I am a Community Associations Institute, (CAI) Homeowner Community Leader for WV. I am also a designated advocate for CAI. CAI sets the standards, public policy and best practices for Homeowners Associations (HOAs) throughout the US and internationally. I am now working with a select group to set up a CAI Chapter in West Virginia.
Prior to setting up a CAI Chapter in WV, I was Chair of Homeowner’s Voice, a pro-bono lobbying group designed to create legislation and oversight of WV Homeowners Associations. Homeowner’s Voice worked closely with the WV Attorney General and CAI on various homeowner’s issues. I was one of the original members and on the Board of Directors for the West Virginia Organization of Homeowners Associations, providing statewide education to HOAs.
For over twenty years, I was a realtor in numerous states and was an appointee to the West Virginia Association of Realtors. I was past President of the Elkins Randolph Board of Realtors serving Randolph, Tucker and Barbour counties. I also have over twenty years’ experience in community advocacy, serving at the pleasure of various West Virginia County Commissioners in multiple positions. I have also worked with Senators and Representatives at both the State and National levels. Prior to my real estate career, I was an advanced practice RN for the Department of Defense and still serve as an American Red Cross volunteer for disaster relief. In addition to my RN, I have dual bachelor’s degrees (both Summa Cum Laude) in business and behavioral health. I have received numerous achievement awards from the US Department of Defense, three lifetime achievement awards from the American Red Cross and the Molly Pitcher Award for my contribution to the U.S. Army Field Artillery for setting up remote medical sites and an American Red Cross station in Northern Germany.
