Keith Stains Takes the Reins as Interim President of CAI-WV
Veteran Community Association Professional Brings Decades of Experience and a Record of Leadership to West Virginia's Newest CAI Chapter
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — October 15, 2026
WEST VIRGINIA — The Community Associations Institute – West Virginia Chapter (CAI-WV) is pleased to announce that Keith Stains, CMCA, AMS, PCAM, has stepped into the role of Interim President, helping lead the chapter through an important period of growth, organization and opportunity.

For CAI-WV, this is a building year—and Stains has already demonstrated his ability to turn that building effort into results. As chair of CAI-WV's Golf Committee, Stains helped lead the chapter's inaugural golf tournament at The Woods in Hedgesville, bringing together community association professionals, business partners, volunteers and supporters for one of the young chapter's first major events. The tournament was a success and provided an early demonstration of what CAI-WV can accomplish by bringing people together around a shared mission.
“We are building something new in West Virginia: its own CAI chapter and its own statewide community of people committed to stronger community associations. I am honored to help lead CAI-WV during this important stage and look forward to working with our members, volunteers, sponsors and partners as we continue building the chapter together.”
Stains brings more than 45 years of combined experience in residential construction, real estate and community association management. He is Director of Association Management – West Region for Property Management People, Inc. (PMP), where his responsibilities include management of the company's Kearneysville, West Virginia, and Winchester, Virginia offices.
His relationship with Community Associations Institute stretches back more than 15 years. A CAI member since 2010, Stains has earned three of the industry's recognized professional credentials: Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA), Association Management Specialist (AMS), and Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM), earning the PCAM designation in 2016.
His CAI service also predates the formation of the West Virginia Chapter. Stains previously served on the Golf Committee and Social Committee of CAI's Chesapeake Chapter before helping build CAI-WV, where he has served as Finance Committee chair and Golf Committee chair.
Stains is also firmly rooted in the Mountain State. A graduate of Shepherd College, now Shepherd University, where he played baseball and earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, he has lived in Jefferson County since 1989.
Building CAI in West Virginia
CAI-WV is itself in an extraordinary period: building a new statewide chapter designed to connect and serve West Virginia's homeowners, volunteer community leaders, community association managers, business partners and other professionals involved with condominiums, homeowners associations and other community associations.
That means building more than an organization. It means building relationships across West Virginia, developing educational and professional resources, creating opportunities for volunteers and emerging leaders, and establishing a statewide network that can serve communities for years to come.
“This chapter has tremendous potential because it brings together people from every part of the community association world. As we grow CAI-WV, our job is to create opportunities for people to learn from one another, build relationships and strengthen communities throughout West Virginia.”
